More ABout Pressotherapy
Pressotherapy is a non-invasive medical and beauty treatment that promotes lymphatic drainage. Pressotherapy is similar to a Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage (MLD), however rather than carried out manually by a trained Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage Therapist by hand, pressure is applied with a specialised computer-controlled pressotherapy device. This provides an alternative method to MLD treating the whole body in turn simultaneously in one session.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU NEED TO WEAR OR BRING A LOOSE T-SHIRT, TRACKSUIT BOTTOMS OR LEGGINGS TO WEAR WHILST YOU’RE IN THE COMPRESSION GARMENT

This device applies air pressure to individual sections of a special multi-chambered garment, alternating between compression and decompression on parts of the body (legs, stomach and arms). This enhances extra-cellular fluid clearance, helping to stimulate the lymphatic system which helps to clear toxins from the body and stimulate blood circulation.

Pressotherapy Benefits
Pressotherapy stimulates the body’s lymphatic system. Our immune system response depends on the lymphatic system, which is a component of the circulatory system. It is composed of a system of lymphatic vessels that transport lymph fluid. White blood cells, lipids, and bacteria that accumulate throughout the body as a result of digestion are components of lymph fluid. Our muscles and movements help the lymphatic system remove this fluid. Pressotherapy can help to dispel this fluid.

Pressotherapy can address issues such as:

-
Poor Circulation
-
Fluid retention
-
Oedema
-
Lymphatic Issues
-
Strengthen weak immune systems due to lymph moving more efficiently
-
Removal of toxins
-
Prevent varicose veins
-
Reduce the appearance of Cellulite
-
Improve Muscle aches & pains and limb stiffness
-
Reduction of swelling and inflammation
-
Improve Skin Tone & Firmness

Benefits of Pressotherapy Pre & Post Liposuction Surgery
Reduce and ease inflammation, soften and reduce scar tissue. Promote regeneration and enhance extra-cellular fluid clearance to be naturally dispelled by the lymphatic system.

Manual Lymphatic or Pressotherapy Lymphatic massage is recommended and beneficial prior to surgery as it facilitates the preparation of the body for the surgical procedure. The lymphatic systems' lymph vessels are stimulated during the massage to eliminate unwanted waste substances such as bacteria, excess fluid, viruses and excess proteins from the body.

It is advisable to have a series of Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massages (performed by hand) immediately post-surgery followed by Pressotherapy Lymphatic Massage approx 3 to 4 weeks after depending on the individual and healing process.

Benefits of Pressotherapy for weight management
Pressotherapy can potentially aid in slimming the appearance of the arms, stomach and legs due to the lymphatic drainage effect (as they will retain less fluid), while subsequently reducing aches and pains and detoxifying the body. A series of weekly sessions is recommended to obtain the best results.

Benefits of Pressotherapy for Endurance Athletes
Endurance athletes can use compression therapy specifically for their legs before or after a workout/training. The improved blood flow will accelerate muscle healing and lessen soreness and tension These positive effects are supported by some research reports.

Benefits of Pressotherapy post-Coolsculpting/Cryotherapy Fat Freezing Treatments
Having Pressotherapy post-Coolsculpting/Cryotherapy Fat Freezing Treatments will help to maximise the effects and provide faster results of fat removal, as the procedure uses the lymphatic system to remove the body’s dead fat cells.

Pressotherapy is not recommended and should be avoided for the following:

-
Recently had surgery (If Post Liposuction surgery, a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks should pass before having pressotherapy providing there are no open wounds, complications etc, a physical consultation will be required first)

People who suffer from heart disease or kidney failure
-
People with varicose veins

Blood Pressure issues

Deep Vein Thrombosis Issues (DVT)
